General Fertility

Navigating the path to parenthood with clarity, compassion, and care.

Whether you’re just beginning to consider growing your family or have been trying for a while, the road to fertility can feel overwhelming. There are medical terms, emotional ups and downs, appointments, timelines, and choices to make—all in the midst of hope and uncertainty. At Reproductive Centers of America (RCA), we believe that knowledge is empowering. Understanding the big picture of the fertility journey can help you feel more grounded and supported, no matter where you are in the process.

Step 1: Realizing You May Need Support

For many individuals and couples, the first sign of a fertility issue is simple: it’s not happening. Whether it’s been six months or two years, noticing irregular cycles, repeated negative tests, or age-related concerns is often what brings people to seek help.

💡 When to seek care:

  • Under 35 and trying for 12+ months
  • Over 35 and trying for 6+ months
  • Known reproductive health condition (PCOS, endometriosis, etc.)
  • History of miscarriage or irregular periods
  • Same-sex couples, single parents by choice, or those pursuing donor options

Step 2: Initial Consultation and Testing

Your first visit at RCA includes a comprehensive evaluation:

  • Medical and reproductive history
  • Hormone testing (FSH, AMH, Estradiol, TSH, etc.)
  • Ultrasound to assess ovarian reserve and uterine health
  • Semen analysis for male partners
  • Discussion of goals and preferences

We take time to understand not just your biology, but your emotional needs, values, and vision for family.

Step 3: Diagnosis and Personalized Planning

Once we have your results, we’ll work with you to develop a custom treatment plan. This may include:

  • Ovulation induction with medication
  • Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
  • Donor sperm, eggs, or embryos
  • Fertility preservation (egg/sperm freezing)
  • Genetic testing (for known or unexplained infertility)

Our plans are designed to be both evidence-based and emotionally sustainable.

Step 4: Treatment & Monitoring

Depending on your path, treatment may involve:

  • Hormone medications to stimulate ovulation or egg development
  • Ultrasounds and bloodwork to monitor progress
  • Egg retrieval and embryo creation (for IVF)
  • Transfer of an embryo into the uterus
  • Two-week wait followed by a pregnancy test

We’re with you every step of the way—with compassion, clarity, and clinical precision.

Step 5: Emotional Support Along the Way

Fertility journeys aren’t just physical—they’re deeply emotional. That’s why we offer:

  • Counseling and support groups
  • Meditation and mind-body programs
  • Nutritional and lifestyle guidance
  • LGBTQ+ inclusive care and trauma-informed practice

We honor the whole person, not just the process.

Step 6: Pregnancy… or Next Steps

If your treatment leads to a successful pregnancy—celebration and continued care. But if not, we help you regroup, reevaluate, and consider next steps with empathy and honesty.

Every journey is unique, and we’re here to support you whether it leads to pregnancy, preservation, surrogacy, adoption, or finding peace in a different path.

You don’t have to walk this journey alone.
At RCA, we meet you with science, soul, and unwavering support.
