Intrauterine insemination

A carefully timed next step.

Timing is central to this pathway. The team reviews ovulation, sperm factors and other findings before recommending an insemination plan.

01 · A clear definition

What is IUI?

IUI places prepared sperm into the uterus around ovulation. Fertilization, if it occurs, takes place inside the body rather than in a laboratory.

When might it be discussed?

IUI may suit selected fertility diagnoses or treatment using donor sperm. Tubal health, ovulation and sperm findings help determine whether it is a reasonable option.

A consultation connects the options to your own history and goals.

Review suitability

Discuss your evaluation, sperm source and whether IUI fits your goals.

Nothing plays automatically. With reduced motion enabled, Play advances one stage.

IUI helps place sperm closer to where fertilization can occur. It does not create an embryo in the laboratory, and it does not guarantee fertilization or pregnancy.

05 · Make an informed decision

Questions deserve clear answers.

What are the risks and limits?

Cramping or spotting can occur, and infection is uncommon. Medication-assisted cycles can increase the risk of multiple pregnancy and may need to be canceled for safety. IUI is not suitable for every diagnosis.

How should I prepare for the first conversation?

Write down your priorities and questions. Ask your coordinator how to provide existing records securely, which appointments may be needed and how to arrange financial follow-up.

What costs should I discuss?

Ask what is included, what may be billed separately and which benefits may apply. The costs and insurance guide can help you prepare.
